Full-Time Senior Interior/Exhibition Designer
Studio Cassells is looking for a highly competent Interior/Exhibition Designer to join our team.
As Senior Exhibition Designer, the successful applicant will work on multiple projects. They will participate in projects creatively and execute projects from concept through to build, independently or as part of our team.
This role requires a designer who is enthusiastic about working flexibly across disciplines and learning new skills to meet the varied nature of our projects: The successful applicant will be working on interior design projects in the areas of museum and permanent exhibition, temporary exhibitions and commercial and retail spaces.
The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate their ability for the above through past work examples and references.
Responsibilities:
Respond creatively and critically to a design brief and lead the development of the design in line with client feedback and input from the Creative Director.
Clearly convey design intent and concept through moodboards, concept sketches and rendered visualisations, written rationales and verbal presentations
CAD model and render spaces and fit-outs (Rhino/V-Ray), re-touching renders in photoshop
Carry out site measures before build and quality check on-site during build, produce defects lists.
Create and manage a full 2D construction drawing package (Rhino)
Communicate effectively with clients and contractors as required and brief subcontractors such as technical drawing companies and graphic designers;
Good communication with the design team and Directors – able to clearly and frequently communicate progress, highlight potential issues before and as they arise
Excellent organisational skills - able to manage and prioritise tasks and time efficiently
Manage your time and work efficiently to deadlines
Skill Requirements:
Minimum 5 years industry experience
Proficient in CAD modelling and rendering using Rhino or 3D Max + VRay
Strong 3D rendering skills using Rhino/AutoCAD, or alternatively VRay, 3D Max
Photoshop skills and ability to retouch renders is a must – further digital painting/ illustration skills is an advantage
The ability to sketch by hand, illustrating and sketching ideas for communication both internally as well as to the client
Create and manage a full 2D construction drawing package (Rhino)
Working knowledge of Hong Kong code
Site experience and working knowledge of construction methods and terminology
Proficient in Adobe suite, excel, project management software
Spoken and written English and Cantonese
